How did you come up with your name? It seems that all of my inspiration and creative sessions take place late at night or in the wee hours of the morning on Fridays. This is how On a Friday came about.

When did you start selling online? I'm still brand new and just became "official" on September 12, 2005.

Do you design your website? I started off attempting to do it all on my own. I had my logo and some ideas. Luckily I found help on it with Lindsay of Lindsay Designs. She helped wrangle in all of my thoughts and needs to create my site.

what item do you sell alot of ? Earrings are definitely a best seller. Sometimes I find that customers are looking for conservative. Most times, however, I sell the big and dangly fun earrings. The perfect accessory!

What's your fav color? I love a lot of colors. It depends on the mood I'm in, I guess. Oranges, reds, greens, browns...all fun and happy colors. Again, it all revolves around the day's mood.

What's your signature color? I can't pin point one particular color that I may be "known" for or as my signature color. I tend to design with colors that are once again based on my mood and not necessarily based on the season at this point. Also, just whatever looks appealing to me.

Has selling your stuff online been hard so far? It definitely is a challenge. Owning a business, whether it be a brick-and-mortar shop or online, is a lot of work. I don't know that you can really plan on how much time and effort it takes to run a store until you're actually doing it.

What do you have planned for 2006? One of my goals for 2006 is to work on PR and refining where my business is going as far as the lines that I currently produce. I'm still so brand new and fresh to the whole online business world and am learning so much each day. I don't think that ever stops, though, and I look forward to more of that in 2006.

what makes you diff then other stores? Everything I make is either one-of-a-kind or limited in quantity. This is absolutely a benefit and the beauty of supporting indie businesses. I also strive to create quality items, provide the best customer service I can and package pieces in a way so that the customer knows how important they are to this business and feel special when they receive their box in the mail.

What do you think of the diy movement? I think it's fabulous! How wonderful it is that people, many women in particular, are finding ways to use a love for their creative outlet and turn it into a livelihood. I tend to think that those involved in the diy movement are more passionate about issues concerning small businesses, environmental issues and charitable causes. This has definitely been proven through many joint efforts of indie businesses.

What made you be part of the diy movement? The joy that I get from having an idea in my head and watching it turn into a tangible piece of art. The craft and final product is something that I designed on my own and then I am able to share it with others. DIYers are often extremely supportive of one another and not necessarily threatened by the thought of a "competitor". It's something quite powerful and amazing and I am proud to be part of this diy movement.
