1 what made you decide to sell you're goods ? Well, I started making my own chokers because I couldn't find anything in the stores that I really liked. After making them for a couple of months I noticed that everywhere I went people were commenting on them. It occured to me that perhaps I was not the only one who was looking for something different like this to wear! So I thought about seeing if others would like to buy my creations.

2 when did you start selling online? So, only a couple of months after I started making my own (back in October 2003) I timidly listed a few pieces on eBay to see how they would go. Every single one of them sold and I was shocked but very excited! So I went about making more and more... created my own website and eBay store and it has just grown from there.

3 how did you come up with the name? Originally my business was called OcularXS (pronounced Ocular Excess) because the majority of my little character pendants featured oversized eyes. After about a year of functioning under this name the amount of difficulties people had with spelling and pronouncing it led me to consider a business name change. I wanted something sharper and easier to remember. It just so happened that around that time one day I was joking with friends and telling them that I was going to change my own name to Kittycat Black. Can't quite remember how that name came to me... but once it did it made me envision a slinky black catsuit clad girl with a gun ...perhaps something out of a Quentin Tarantino movie. Then it occured to me that this would be the perfect name for my business!

4 whats are youre signature colors My own personal signature colours are black and red... I just love the combination and wear pretty much no other colours. Of course, this is then reflected in my work and it works out well because red and black seem to be very popular colours! Black and white are also another popular combination that I tend to go with in many of my jewelry pieces.

5 what do you think of indie shop interviews I think it's an awesome site and the interviews make great reading and give fantastic insight into what other designers are up to and how they got to where they are.
