1 How did you come up with youre stores name ?
I wanted something easy to remember.
(sorry, I know that's hideously boring! LOL)
2 When did you open shop?
January 1, 2006, less than a month after I made my first piece of jewelry. The first time I ever sat down with beading wire and gemstones to create my first necklace, I feel deeply in love with the art of creating jewelry. My husband has always been my biggest fan and he has supported me wholeheartedly from day one, through all the ups and downs, of this business.
3 what is youre favorite item to make?
Any piece of jewelry woven of chain maille. I love the entire process of weaving chain maille. From selecting a weave, to painstakingly coiling the wire around mandrels, to cutting the jump rings individually, tumbling the rings, and then sitting down to patiently weave each ring into a pattern. It is a long process that takes a lot of patience and perfectionism, and I love every moment of it. Weaving chain maille is very relaxing to me, and each piece is speical to me because its more than just a piece of jewelry. A little part of my soul and a lot of love goes into each creation and I know I will never tire of weaving chain maille.
4 Is there any one in the indie world you would like to meet?
There is not one specific person whom I'd like to meet. I'd love to meet any of the fellow women who have started their own business. It is so interesting to talk to other women who have taken a dream and have worked hard to bring their dream into fruition.
5 what do you think of indie shop interviews?
I love the opportunity to learn about each of the artists that have been interviewed. Each person has a different story, and the struggles and successes are such an inspiration to read.
