1. Did you go to school for your craft?
I taught myself jewelry making about 8 years ago with my instructors being various internet sites and beadworking magazines. As far as formal schooling, I got a degree in Occupational Therapy, but I always took different kinds of art classes in High School and College. Last year I finally took metalsmithing classes at a fine arts center to broaden my jewelrymaking skills.
2 When did you offically become a crafter?
I’ve always been crafting. For my whole life, I’ve always enjoyed making things but I would have to say it was official when all of the empty spaces in my cupboards and closets filled up with craft supplies of all kinds.
3 What does the diy movement mean to you?
DIY gives people with a unique and creative spirit a way to show the world what their incredible talents are and come together as a community more than most businesses I’ve seen to promote their products and support one another.
4 When did you open shop?
My shop opened on the web in 2000. Wow, it’s been that long ago…..
5( stores name ) is all about ?
The most important thing that I bring to my shop is my love for design. I always try to make jewelry and accessories that reflect a little bit of a different perspective. I strive for uniqueness. I adore color and am drawn to bold colors and shapes in my jewelry designs. I will only sell quality work, so I use only good quality gemstones and findings. I also am not a manufacturer. I get bored making several of one item and always have ideas for different pieces, so I usually make at the most 2-3 of one piece.
