How did you come up with the name? The name bobe happened by accident really, when my younger brother just brought home a new goldfish. He thought it would be fitting to call him Bobby, being the tender age of 8 that he was, spelt it wrong on his sheet of paper. When I pointed out to him that it said bobe instead he decided to just call him that. I thought it sounded cute and decided to adopt the name bobe: beyond ordinary bath essentials was then born!

when did you start making beauty products? My researching and experimenting started in May 2005 but my product line began in September 2005.

Whats the cool thing about having a online shop? I love being able to be in contact with people from all over the world, all walks of life and having so much more flexibility as a business itself.

whats youre best seller? All of our actual products sells about the same in terms of quantity. Our 5 top selling fragrances though are: White Cake, Nut Medley, Vanilla Chai, Jungle Fever and Green Tea & Cucumber

have you done any shows? I was part of the Borden Christmas Craft Show this past December, which is a town 30 minutes away from where I live. I was nervous and excited but did better than I expected. Our hot seller was the lip balm. I think every single little girl that walked by got one and/or brought their parent back to get one for them hehe

what was the feedback from customers like at the show/s? It was a very positive response. I think what surprises people the most is that I do it all myself from start to finish, but still have a professional looking product. Plus they love the unique and wide variety of fragrances.

whats youre fav item? I would have to say the lip balm. LOVE IT! I use it everyday myself & would be hard pressed to find anything else I like better.

Is shopping for supplies evil? Oh yes, it's so hard to resist those urges sometimes. When looking for new fragrances I usually end up deciding on twice as many as I intended and that is still with exercising some restraint. I love my fragrances!

whats the best advice some one gave you? "Don't be afraid to fail". If you are afraid of falure you are not going to put your whole heart & energy into a project. My intial idea of bobe still remains in tact but the products themselves have evolved. There has been alot of trial and error but it has only benefited bobe. If I had originally said to myself "I don't have a chance of getting a business off the ground" it wouldn't have happened. I had an idea & I ran with it. What happens down the line will always be a mystery so just follow your heart & go for it!

what advice do you have for wanna -be beauty makes like say Mek? Follow your passion/idea, have fun, but also do lots and lots of research! My head was swarming with information for months on end but it was a good thing and I was so excited. It's important to research about the industry, competitors, suppliers, marketing, trends, technique for creating your product(s). It's important as well to speak with other business owners in the market as well as in the general business community. Their insight and experience is so valuable.

what 2 words describe youre shop? Simple & Quirky
