January 23th 2007:www.aoisart.etsy.com 1 What do you like about being a indie designer? I am happy to be part of the growing DIY community of artists who believe that a handmade creation has more value than a mass-produced one. I love the fact that something handmade can be customized to our needs and to the needs of our customers. I think that’s one of the main pleasures of being an indie artist. 2 what are youre favorite materials to work with? I have been in love with polymer clay from long time but I also love to use beads, threads, felt, pencils, watercolors and many other mediums (I use real ingredients for real food on a daily basis, too) 3 When did you open youre etsy stop? I open my etsy shop in November 2005, I was excited to have found a community full of talented people with whom share the love for handmade creations and show my miniature food creations. 4 what is your best seller? People seemed to appreciate my “peel good” serie of earrings and charms like the oranges (I will be creating them again, promise!). I feel that in the sweet section of my shop customers like my original design of “romantic rose cake earrings” (a white cake with pink toned roses on top). When I started selling my “cake slice earrings” I made sure no one was creating anything like that and I am happy that people appreciated the idea. Whatever the bestseller might be, it’s overwhelming knowing that people appreciates what you create. 5 What do you like about indie shop interviews? It’s interesting to read about the diversity of mediums used, the different inspirations but the common passion to create with our own hands moved by our fantasy. Thank you to have offered me the opportunity to talk about my work! :)
